Mandatory Upgrade Required Before 1 March 2026

This upgrade affects the following Accounting Addons products.:

  • BudgetLink
  • DirectDebitsLink
  • ExcelReportLink
  • ODBClink

The upgrade is required to be installed before 1 March 2026.

Why is Upgrading required

MYOB is introducing mandatory security changes that take effect 1 March 2026. After this date, older versions of Accounting Addons products would not be able to connect to MYOB company files.

We have developed and published upgrades to each of the products listed above in order to work with these changes.

What has changed

MYOB has updated the way it controls access to company files. Under the new model, connected software must request permission to access only the modules it needs, such as general ledger, contacts, banking, or payroll. This is different to the previous process that provides access to everything at once.

This change comes directly from MYOB and affects all software that connects to a MYOB company file. It is not optional. After 1 March 2026, any software that has not been updated will no longer be able to connect to MYOB.

This update provides improved security and ensures customers have greater control over which applications can access their data.

Workspaces added to all products

We are pleased to announce that a workspace feature has been added to all products.

Workspaces allow you to create and manage separate configurations and environment for BudgetLink, ExcelReportLink, ODBClink and DirectDebitsLink. It is used primarily by consultants, accountants and managers to work on different sets of companies at a time.

Note that Free Editions and Standard Editions users will be limited to a single workspace but users can upgrade to the Pro Editions or Ultimate Editions.

Archiving added to all products for MYOB AccountRight Classic, MYOB AccountRight Live and Xero data files

We are pleased to announced that an archiving feature has been developed for MYOB AccountRight Classic, MYOB AccountRight Live and Xero data files. This feature is included in the following products: BudgetLink, ExcelReportLink and ODBClink.

This improvement means that the Get Data process will be substantially faster for anyone who upgrades to the latest version and enables the archiving functionality. Note that archiving is only available to Pro Edition users.

It is also worth noting that this improvement will also increase the speed of the Get Data for those on  Standard Editions.

BudgetLink, ExcelReportLink and ODBClink software updates bring 64-bit compatibility (August 2014)

We are pleased to announce the latest release of our products for August 2014. We have worked hard to make BudgetLink, ExcelReportLink and ODBClink compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Excel.

It is worth noting that users of MYOB 19.10 or prior will still need to use the 32-bit version of Microsoft Excel as the ODBC driver is 32-bit.

ODBClink officially listed on the MYOB Addons website (June 2014)

We are pleased to announced that ODBClink was officially listed on the MYOB addons website on 04/06/2014.

ODBClink is an addon to MYOB which allows you to retrieve the data from MYOB AccountRight Live and placed it in a Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL Server database. In effect, allowing you to manipulate the data using ODBC and SQL.
