Troubleshooting folder permissions

Overview

Start-Up write access error

For BudgetLink to complete the Get Data process and to backup database files successfully, certain folder security permissions must be set. These settings will allow data to be extracted from your accounting products data file and be written to the BudgetLink databases.

As a minimum, all BudgetLink users must have Read and Write access to all files and sub folders of the BudgetLink Folder and the C:\Temp\BudgetLink folder.

Giving all BudgetLink users Full Control to the BudgetLink Folder itself and to all sub folders and files will ensure that BudgetLink can work correctly.

Furthermore, BudgetLink cannot be installed in C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\.

Procedure

Check with your IT provider for support or procedures on how to change user permissions to the BudgetLink Folder.
