Home > Getting Started Guide > Configuration

This is the Configuration hub page. At this point, clients have installed the software and taken the introductory tour of the features and concepts.

There are a few topics in this section that could be amalgamated into this hub page. For example, two logical inclusions are Starting ODBClink and Welcome to ODBClink Form. These pages are currently separate, but the information contained on them is well suited to introductory text on this hub page.

The Getting Started video is particularly relevant to this section, but I thought it best to include it on the top level page so that client's could simply view the guide upfront if they didn't want to bother reading this section. Please advise if you would prefer it here instead.

Starting ODBClink

To start ODBClink, double click the PL: ODBClink Shortcut that is displayed on your desktop. Alternatively, you may need to browse to the installation folder if you do not have a shortcut on your desktop.

The Welcome to ODBClink Form opens during the ODBClink start up process. If you don't see this form during start-up then its a sign that Excel macros will need to be enabled.

Configuring ODBClink

There are two primary configuration steps...

  1. PL: Adding a Data File connection
  2. PL: Adding a Data Warehouse

Once you have completed these three steps, you are ready to run your first query.
