Overview

ODBClink started in protected view

When starting ODBClink, it may be possible that Microsoft Excel starts in Protected View. This can occur depending on where ODBClink was installed and how your machine is configured.

Protected View can be identified by a yellow bar appearing in Excel as seen on the image on this page.

When ODBClink is started in protected view, the code will not run until authorised. To do so, simply click on the Enable Editing button in the yellow bar.

Notes

If the Enable Editing button is not available, we recommend you refer to Microsoft Knowledge base Protected View in Microsoft Excel.
