How to Share ODBClink with Drop Box

Overview

If you want to share ODBClink[1] and you don't have or don't want to use a server it can be shared using Dropbox. This support note explains how to do that. Because Dropbox synchronises the databases rather than updating them like on a Server, only one person can enter data or change setting at the same time. For this reason, if choosing the Dropbox sharing path we recommend that you designate one person to either update ODBClink and or control when users can update etc. If you don't then the consequence could be duplicated databases and someone loosing their changes. As a safe guard re recommend that you lock you ODBClink versions with a password if sharing using Drop Box. So if you are good with the above limitations then go for it

Preparation

  1. Confirm that you have Drop Box installed
  2. Confirm that your version of ODBClink is compatible with Drop Box

Procedure

  1. Move your ODBClink folder from it's current folder to your Dropbox folder
  2. Share ODBClink from Dropbox
