Overview

From an integration perspective, MYOB AccountRight Live is a completely different product than MYOB AccountRight v19 (Classic). The Classic version provides access to the MYOB data via and ODBC Driver where as the Live version provides access via an API.

As they are different the normal upgrade process of pointing to the new data file would not work so we developed functionality to convert captured data from the classic format to the live format

How to Upgrade to MYOB AccountRight Live from MYOB AccountRight Classic

Before starting the process make sure that you have the latest conversion functionality by upgrading to the latest version of BudgetLink if you haven't done so in the last year

Go to Menu > 30. Settings > Data Files > Manage Data Files

When prompted, click Yes to Back Up as your about to make major changes to your file

Select your Data File and click the Edit Data File button

At Data File Type change the drop down from MYOB AccountRight 19 to MYOB AccountRight Live

At Connection Type choose either LOCAL, SERVER, CLOUD.

If CLOUD then choose the MY.MYOB ONLY option if you only log on to MYOB with your my.MYOB an email address and password. If you enter a separate User Name like Administrator after logging onto MY.MYOB then choose the USER NAME AND PASSWORD option.

Click the Browse button

If you have chosen CLOUD then you will need to log onto my.MYOB first and approve access to BudgetLink

Then choose your data file from the left

Enter your MYOB User Name and Password if required

Click Test to confirm that the details are correct

Once accurate then click OK.

BudgetLink will now convert your budgets and settings to the new format

Form further information see Changing how BudgetLink connects to your data file

Note

The existing data file connection stores all budgets and settings relating to that data file. If you delete that connection it all associated budgets and settings will get deleted also. Make sure that you only edit the existing connection rather than deleting and adding a new one
