How to Share BudgetLink with Drop Box
Overview
If you want to share BudgetLink and you don't have or want to use a server is can be shared using Dropbox. This support note explains how to do that.
Preparation
Procedure
- Move your BudgetLink folder from it's current folder to your Dropbox folder
- Share BudgetLink from Dropbox
- Start BudgetLink from Dropbox
Notes
Dropbox synchronises the databases rather than updating them like on a Server. As such only one person can enter budget data or change setting at the same time. For this reason, if choosing the Dropbox sharing path we recommend that you designate one person to either update BudgetLink and or control when users can update budgets etc. If you don't then the consequence could be duplicated databases and someone loosing their changes. As a safe guard re recommend that you lock you budget versions with a password if sharing using Drop Box. So if you are good with the above limitations then go for it
