How to create a new instance of ExcelReportLink

Overview
ExcelReportLink is an Excel solution which exists as a folder containing workbooks and some databases. While you can add multiple data files to a single folder instance, there may be times when you want to keep the data files separate. This can include when you have groups of data files which relate to a single customer, or your an accountant with multiple clients. The way to achieve separating the data files is to create a separate instance of ExcelReportLink. A separate instance is basically a copy of the ExcelReportlink folder which is configured to point to different data files from the original
Procedure
- Locate the ExcelReportLink folder
- Copy the folder and paste into a new location.
- Rename the folder to include a word to identify it from the original instance
- Start the new instance of ExcelReportLink
- Start the new instance of a new user wizard will start with some prompts
- Go to Settings > Data Files edit data files
- Delete the existing data file connection and then add new ones that you want linked to the new instance
