Get Data
Overview
The Get Data process is the main process that transfers the data from your accounting packages into ExcelReportLink.
ExcelReportLink does not use a live link to your data. Instead, it provides a mechanism to synchronise the data from your accounting packages into different databases used for reporting, allowing you to run reports in the most efficient way.
Each time you require access to the latest data in ExcelReportLink, you will need to run this Get Data process.
How to Get Data from your accounting package
Whenever you start ExcelReportLink, the get data process will usually display. The get data process can also be accessed from the Menu. To perform a Get Data, follow these steps.
- From the Get Data Options dialogue, ensure the Full Get Data option is selected;
- Click on the OK button and wait for the progress dialogue to complete;
- Once complete, click the Close button and then run your reports.
Partial Get Data
ExcelReportLink Pro Editions have the ability to perform a Partial Get Data allowing you to control how much data to retrieve from your accounting software to speed up the Get Data process.
Archiving during Get Data
ExcelReportLink Pro Editions have the ability to archive historical data allowing you to retain data which may have been purged out of MYOB.
