Overview

Start-Up compile error

While BudgetLink can run on Microsoft Excel 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013, it used to require the 32-bit version of those products to be installed. The main reason for this was that both the MYOB ODBC driver and the QuickBooks QBFC object library are 32-bit only.

Note that BudgetLink can run on 64-bit machines, but Microsoft Office must be 32-bit. If you tried to run BudgetLink on a 64-bit version, you would receive a compile error when BudgetLink first start.

Also note that Microsoft Excel 2003 and 2007 are only available as 32-bit versions and are not affected by this issue.

If you do have Microsoft Office installed as a 64-bit version, you may need to uninstall it and install the 32-bit version which is located on the same disk.
