Weekly Budgeting and Reporting
The Challenge
Producing weekly reports from MYOB is very difficult. There are no native reports in MYOB that work on a weekly basis. Exporting and manually editing the data in Excel is extremely time consuming. Also, while QuickBooks does have weekly reports, you cannot control when the financial year and weeks starts.
What can be done ?
Through our custom development work, we have created a mechanism where the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet data can be reported on a weekly basis. Added to this, BudgetLink can also capture Budgets on a weekly basis.
How does it work ?
You simply need to download BudgetLink and connect it to your data files. Once connected and fully setup, BudgetLink can calculate and produce reports on a weekly basis at the click of a button.
It does require some setup and/or consulting to ensure everything is up and running correctly:
You can Control what day the week will begin. This is extremely useful for organisation whose trading is controlled by market mechanics (for instance, cinemas which typically gets new released on a Thursday).
You can set it such that the weeks cannot overlap financial years. You can also set it whether the first day of the week or the last day of the week dictates which financial year it will belong. From these settings it will dynamically create 52 or 53 weeks.
Even more powerful, you can also control how the weeks roll will up into months using the 13 4-weekly periods functionality.
The Weekly Budgeting and Reporting works for:
- MYOB AccountRight Classic (MYOB Accounting, Accounting Plus and Premier);
- MYOB AccountRight Live;
- MYOB AccountEdge;
- QuickBooks.
