How to enable weekly reporting periods

Overview

BudgetLink Ultimate Edition can report up to 52 or 53 weeks into the past and future but is usually configured to report on 3 for performance reasons. These years are based on your current financial year in your accounting software.

Note that BudgetLink Free Edition do not have . You will need to Upgrade to BudgetLink Ultimate Edition to be able to configure this setting.

To change the number of financial years you can report on, follow these steps.

  1. From the BudgetLink main menu, click on 30. Settings;
  2. Click on Options and Administration;
  3. Click on the Set User Options button;
  4. From the options dialogue, select the Periods item in the left-hand list;
  5. Untick the “Disable Weekly Periods” option
  6. Choose which day the weeks start on.
  7. Choose whether “weekly periods do not overlap financial years”, “The Start Date determines the financial year” or “The End Date determines the financial year”
  8. Enable/Disable Four-Weekly Periods
  9. If Enabled, then enter the number of weeks for each period. Ensure all are Allocated.


Notes

  1. When using Four Weekly Periods, a total of 53 weeks need to be allocated to account for partial weeks.
  2. When using Four Weekly Periods, a 13th period may get created if required.
  3. When using Four Weekly Periods, the traditional Monthly Periods will no longer apply and be available.
