Multiple Users
Overview
This support note explains how to go about sharing ExcelReportLink with multiple users
Sharing functionality is available for the Standard Edition or above
ExcelReportLink works differently to most software in that Microsoft Excel is the application and ExcelReportLink is Excel workbooks with macros
If you have ExcelReportLink already installed somewhere in your organisation and Excel installed on the PC you want to run it from then you dont need to install ExcelReportLink again in order to share it
To share ExcelReportLink, you would approach it in a similar way to sharing a normal Excel Workbook
You can either save it to a shared folder on your file server or save it to either Dropbox or OneDrive and then share the folder with other users
We recommend a file server over synced folder like Dropbox, because it has the limiation that only one person can make settings changes at the same time
If installing on a file server you can either open it from your local PC or in a Terminal Server. Running it on a Terminal Server requires the Pro Edition or above
If installing a new copy of ExcelReportLink then during the unzip process change the installation path from C:\ExcelReportLink... to your Shared Folder
If already installed on your local machine and you want to keep that instance then Move into your shared folder
Once located in the Shared folder give full read/write permissions to the ExcelReportLink Folder and the C:/Temp/ExcelReportLink folder of your local machine.
For each ExcelReportLink User, start ExcelReportLink for the first time by double clicking ExcelReportLink.exe file located in the ExcelReportLink Folder.
A setup wizard will appear and prompt to create a trusted location and add a shortcut to the desktop.
