ExcelReportLink stores the information relating to your data file in a database. This ensures that you do not need to specify how to connect to your data file each and every time. However, you may need to change this configuration when your data file moves, when user names or passwords are changed, or for any other reason.

== Overview ==

ExcelReportLink stores Settings in an Access database named AddonsLink Workspace.mdb which is located in the \ExcelReportlink [Edition]\Workspaces\[Your Workspace] folder.

ExcelReportLink will prompt to take backups of this database upon closing or before advanced processing. Backups are stored in the \ExcelReportLink\Workspaces\[Your Workspace]\Backup\ folder. If the ExcelReportLink Database becomes corrupt, it can be restored from a back up.

This article describes how to do that.

== Procedure ==

# Open '''Windows Explorer''' and browse to the '''\ExcelReportlink [Edition]\Workspaces\[Your Workspace]''' folder;
# Locate the '''AddonsLink Workspace.mdb''';
# Move the '''AddonsLink Workspace.mdb''' file '''\ExcelReportlink [Edition]\Workspaces\Backup\''' folder. Rename with a date time stamp if a file with the same name already exists;
# Browse to the '''\ExcelReportlink [Edition]\Workspaces\''';
# Browse to a Date Time stamp folder when ExcelReportLink was working;
# Copy the '''AddonsLink Workspace.mdb''' file and paste into the '''\ExcelReportlink [Edition]\Workspaces\[Your Workspace]''' Folder;
# Restart '''ExcelReportLink''';
# Run a '''Full Get Data'''.

== Notes ==

* The Backups are prefixed with a date time stamp which is taken from the date when the backup was taken and formatted as yymmdd - hhmm. This date time stamp must be removed when restoring the backup.

== Overview ==

The Get data process pulls data from data sources into ExcelReportLinks database and also into Excels Memory. The many tasks that occur during that process are captured in a log. If there is an error during this process, details of the error message will be captured in that log file

To send a copy of that log to Accounting Addons support then follow the process below

<br clear=all />

== Procedure ==

*Start ExcelReportLink and follow the prompts to the Get Data Options dialog[[File:GetDataDialogue.png|300px|thumb|right|Get Data Options dialog]]
*Choose the full Get Data Option and click OK.
*If an error occurs then we suggest as a first step clicking on the help button for more information on how to resolve the issue yourself
*At the bottom of the Get Data Progress dialog[[File:GetDataProgressDialogue.png|300px|thumb|right|Get Data Options Dialog]] click the Send log button and follow the prompts to send the log as an email attachment

=== Steps to get the latest log file ===

#Go to C/ExcelReportLink folder/System/Logs/ Get Data Logs
#Right click in the folder and click View/Details
#Sort the files according to date by clicking on the Date Modified tab.

This support note explains how to go about sharing ExcelReportLink with multiple users

== Share ExcelReportLink with Multiple Users ==

Sharing functionality is available for the Standard Edition or above

ExcelReportLink works differently to most software in that Microsoft Excel is the application and ExcelReportLink is Excel workbooks with macros

If you have ExcelReportLink already installed somewhere in your organisation and Excel installed on the PC you want to run it from then you dont need to install ExcelReportLink again in order to share it

To share ExcelReportLink, you would approach it in a similar way to sharing a normal Excel Workbook

You can either save it to a shared folder on your file server or save it to either Dropbox or OneDrive and then share the folder with other users

We recommend a file server over synced folder like Dropbox, because it has the limiation that only one person can make settings changes at the same time

If installing on a file server you can either open it from your local PC or in a Terminal Server. Running it on a Terminal Server requires the Pro Edition or above

If installing a new copy of ExcelReportLink then during the unzip process change the installation path from C:\ExcelReportLink... to your Shared Folder

If already installed on your local machine and you want to keep that instance then [[How to move ExcelReportLink to another location (Folder/Computer)|Move]] into your shared folder

Once located in the Shared folder [[How to share ExcelReportLink on Network|give full read/write permissions]] to the [[ExcelReportLink Folder]] and the C:/Temp/ExcelReportLink folder of your local machine.

For each ExcelReportLink User, start ExcelReportLink for the first time by double clicking ExcelReportLink.exe file located in the [[ExcelReportLink Folder]].

A setup wizard will appear and prompt to create a trusted location and add a shortcut to the desktop.

== How to get multi-user access to ExcelReportLink GL Pivot Solution ==

If you require multiple users to use the software, you will either need to subscribe to ExcelReportLink Standard Edition or above
We do have a workaround, but not a permanent solution at this stage.

==Workaround==

The work around is after publishing is press ALT+F, then press ESCAPE and the Ribbon should redraw
