Overview

In order to record data into MYOB AccountRight Classic (Accounting, Accounting Plus, Premier or Enterprise v19), User Account Control must be turned off. User Account Control is a mechanism of Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 that can prevent software from talking to each other.

How to turn off User Account Control in Windows 7

To turn off user account control on a windows 7 machine, follow these steps.

  1. Click on Start button in windows;
  2. Type UAC in the search box;
  3. Click on Change User Account Control Settings;
  4. Move the slider completely to the bottom;
  5. Click OK;
  6. Reboot your machine.


How to turn off User Account Control in Windows 8 & Windows 10

To turn off user account control on a windows 8 machine, follow these steps.

  1. Open up the Start screen;
  2. Search for UAC;
  3. Click on Change User Account Control Settings;
  4. Move the slider completely to the bottom;
  5. Click OK;
  6. Run Regedit;
  7. Find the Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System;
  8. Find the setting named EnableLUA and set it to 0;
  9. Reboot your machine.

Notes

  • We recommend only your IT support staff member only turns off UAC via the registry as any mistake may harm your computer.
