This guide describes how to move DirectDebitsLink to a new Location (machine or folder).

From a Technical perspective the DirectDebitsLink solution is a collection of Excel Workbooks with Macros and databases. The actual application is Microsoft Excel

So when moving to a new location its similar to moving a folder of workbooks. So long as you have Excel installed there is no software to install

All you need to do is move the DirectDebitsLink Folder and its contents to the new location.

Once moved you need to make sure that all users have full read right access to the DirectDebitsLink folder and the C:\temp folder

Upon starting for the first time there is a one time new user setup wizard that will create short cuts and create trusted locations so that it will run

Once moved and tested in the new location if no longer required on the old location you can delete that copy

Procedure

Please follow these instructions to move the DirectDebitsLink folder to a new location.

  1. Locate the DirectDebitsLink Folder to move;
  2. Copy and paste the folder to the new location;
  3. Grant the user full read write access to the new DirectDebitsLink Folder and the C:\Temp folder and there subfolders
  4. Start DirectDebitsLink for the first time by double clicking the DirectDebitLink.exe file in the new DirectDebitsLink Folder
  5. Upon starting, run through the one time setup wizard to create shortcuts and create trusted locations.
  6. Once tested in the new location you can remove the old DirectDebitsLink Folder if no longer required
