Using Source Values to Build Budgets

The Budget Entry form contains two sections. The left visible side is where budgets get entered into. There is also a section on the right called Source Values. This can be activated in the Customize form. It can be used for displaying last years actual's for example. Once displayed on the right its then possible to copy the data in the source values area to the Budget Entry area for the selected dimensions


You can copy values by selecting the values that you want to copy across and then click the Copy button. Values can be selected in either the Budget Entry area or the Source Values area. If you want to select all the cells then click the Select All button


To create a budget using Last Years actuals:

  1. Choose the dimensions to show the budget to create
    1. ie FYear: 2019, Version: Budget
  2. Choose the Source fitlers to display Last Years Actuals
    1. ie FYear: 2018, Version: Actuals
  3. Click the Select All button
  4. Click the Copy button
  5. Repeat for each job or category or company


The Budget Entry side should now contain the same values as the Source Values


You can choose to edit the numbers in the Budget Entry side
