Create user to run the Auto Upload Scheduled Tasks
Overview
On some machines, creating a new user with the correct administrative rights is the only way to get the auto upload to work. This is best done on the server or local machine that has access to your data file.
Create the user
Using the Computer Management administrative tool, create a new user with the correct administrative rights. We recommend the user is called AutoUploadUser.
It should belong to the following groups.
- Administrators
- Disctributed COM Users
- Performance Log Users
- Performance Monitor Users
Grant User Access to the required folder
The user should be given Full Control to your data file, the application, and any other folder used by the application
Add the trusted location for that user
A trusted location to the application folder should be added to that user. To do so, log in as the user and add the trusted location while logged in. See Adding a Trusted Location in Microsoft Excel 2007 OR Adding a Trusted Location in Microsoft Excel 2010 or 2013 for more information.
Run the software for the user at least once
We recommend you run the software while logged in as that user at least once to ensure that everything works while the user is logged in.
Update the auto upload scheduled task
Return to the auto upload scheduled task and update the user information to use this new user. See Auto Upload for more information.
Test the Auto Upload Scheduled Task is configured correctly
Finally, once the Auto Upload Scheduled tasks is configured, we recommend you test it. For more information, see Test the Auto Upload Scheduled Task is configured correctly.
