Clearing Budgets

Overview

If you need to start your budgets from scratch, BudgetLink has the facility to clear you budgets.

Clearing budget data

To clear budget data from one version, follow these instructions.

  1. From the Menu, click on 20. Budget Entry;
  2. Click on Version Control in the menu;
  3. From the Version Control page, click the Version Control button;
  4. Click Yes to backup the database;
  5. Click OK when the backup is complete.
  6. On the version Control dialogue, click the Modify Data button;
  7. On the Modify Budget Data dialog box that appears, click the From list and choose whether to Clear the source data;
  8. Ensure that the Choose a specific version to modify check box is selected and choose the From version;
  9. You can then choose a specific company, account, job, year and period to modify by selecting the corresponding check boxes and making selections from the lists. For any check box you have not selected, all corresponding data in the source budget version will be cleared;
  10. Once all your selections have been made, click the Modify Budget Data;
  11. Click OK when the operation is complete;
  12. Click Close on the Modify Budget Data dialogue;
  13. Click Close on the Version Control dialogue;

Notes

  • If you have a large amount of data over several jobs, this process can take some time.
