Create default account hierarchy

Overview

In order to consolidate data files, BudgetLink requires a default [[Account Hierarchies|account hierarchy].

There are two types of account hierarchies.

Static Account Hierarchies allows you to reorder, renumber and rename accounts as well control how accounts from your data files are mapped. This provides the best flexibility and functionality, especially if your data files have vastly different account hierarchies or come from entirely different accounting products.

Dynamic Account Hierarchies will automatically synchronise with your master data file. Any accounts added or removed from your data file will be reflected in the account hierarchy. However, this type of account hierarchy do not allow you to control how accounts are mapped across different data files. Instead, the different data files will be mapped automatically by account number. As such, it is important to ensure accounts are numbered the same and used for the same purpose.
