How to move ExcelReportLink to another location (Folder/Computer)

Overview

If you have a new machine (PC) or wish to hand over reporting operations to another person, the first step is to work out where ExcelReportLink is installed. You can do this by tracing the path of the shortcut on your desktop.

If its installed on a shared folder on your server then navigate to that folder from the new PC and run the ExcelReportLink.exe. The first time its run from that new location a setup wizard will start to capture setup instructions.

If located on your local PC rather than install a new version, move that installation by cutting and pasting the solution folder to the new location.

That new location can either be a folder on a New PC or a folder on a network share or drop box

Registration key dialogue

1. Locate the ExcelReportLink Folder to move;
2. Copy and paste the folder to the new location;
3. Enable user access to ExcelReportLink folders;
4. Start ExcelReportLink by clicking the ExcelReportLink.exe file in the ExcelReportLink Folder;

ExcelReportLink should now be useable on the new machine. Be mindful you may need to update your data connection. See Changing how ExcelReportLink connects to your data file for more information.
