How to install a custom report

Overview

All ExcelReportLink reports are self contained Excel workbooks that can be shipped and installed independently of each other. The only requirement is that they are located within the ExcelReportLink's system folder.

Custom reports are typically sent either as an email attachment or as a drop box download link.

How to install a custom report received as an email attachment

To install a custom report received as an email attachment, follow these steps.

1. Start ExcelReportLink
2. From the Menu, click on 35. Help, then choose Links;
3. Click on the hyperlink next to System Folder;
4. Copy the folder location displayed in the address bar at the top of the windows explorer window;
5. Go to your email and chose to save the attachment and paste the address copied;
6. Click the save button;
7. Return to ExcelReportLink and click on the Refresh Menu button;

The new report should appear in the menu.

How to install a custom report received as drop box download link

To install a custom report received as drop box download link, follow these steps.

1. Start ExcelReportLink
2. From the Menu, click on 35. Help, then choose Links;
3. Click on the hyperlink next to System Folder;
4. Copy the folder location displayed in the address bar at the top of the windows explorer window;
5. Open your email containing the download link
6. Click on the link to view an image of the template in you web browser
7. Click Download and then choose Direct download
8. Choose to save the file and paste the copied folder location;
9. Return to ExcelReportLink and click on the Refresh Menu button;

The new report should appear in the menu.
