Troubleshooting Publish Problems

Charts disappear when publishing
For some users, charts can disappear when publishing. This seems to be especially common in Excel 2010 and Excel 2013. Not all solutions work but it is best to try each one until the solution is resolved.
Turn on the option to 'Cut, copy and sort inserted objects with their parent cells'
Excel provides an option to 'Cut, copy and sort inserted objects with their parent cells'. It should be turned on in order to publish reports with charts successfully. For more information, see Turning on the option to cut, copy and sort inserted objects with their parent cells.
Adding a trusted location

Changing the default file format
For Excel 2007, 2010 and 2013 users, ensuring the default file format of Excel is XLSM resolves many problems. For more information, see Changing the default file format in Microsoft Excel.
Repair or Reinstall Microsoft Office
If the previous solutions do not help resolve the problem, it may be worth considering reinstalling Microsoft Office. Please contact your IT Support provider.
Update Microsoft Office with all service packs, updates and hotfixes.
Finally, it is also recommended to ensure all service packs, updates and hotfixes for Microsoft Office are installed. Please contact your IT Support provider.
Compile errors during publish
For some users, compile errors can occur during publish. There are various ways to resolve this problem.
Trust access to the VBA project model
Compile errors can occur during publish as some worksheets contains code. To resolve this problem, see Trusting access to the VBA project model.
Including the menu on your publish reports may cause the publish to fail on some versions of BudgetLink. This is due to the fact that the menu contains some code which may not compile when included in a new workbook.
Unticking the option to include the menu in the publishing dialogue can ensure that the publish completes successfully. This issue has been fixed in newer versions of BudgetLink.
Publish fails to complete
For some users, the publish process runs but fails to complete. There are various reasons for this. Refer to the following topics.
