This guide describes how to move BudgetLink to a new Location (machine or folder).
If you have a new machine or are transferring the responsibility of using BudgetLink to another user then you may want to move BudgetLink to a new location (machine or folder). This guide describes how to move it.


BudgetLink exists as a series of files and folders contained with a main folder. In order to move BudgetLink to a new location, the main folder must be copied in full to the new location. If moving BudgetLink to a new machine or hard drive.

# Move the BudgetLink folder to the new machine
# Locate the existing [[BudgetLink Folder]] you wish to move;
# Request a Transfer Key (only if moving to a new machine or hard drive);
# Enter the Transfer Key into BudgetLink (only if moving to a new machine or hard drive).

Overview

If you have a new machine or are transferring the responsibility of using BudgetLink to another user then you may want to move BudgetLink to a new location (machine or folder). This guide describes how to move it.

Procedure

  1. Locate the existing BudgetLink Folder you wish to move;
  2. Cut and paste the folder to the new location;
  3. Provide full read write access to the BudgetLink folder and its Sub
  4. Start the BudgetLink in the new location by double clicking the BudgetLink.exe file located in the BudgetLink Folder;

If a Transfer Key is Required

BudgetLink should now be useable on the new machine. Be mindful you may need to update your data connection. See Changing how BudgetLink connects to your data file for more information.
