BudgetLink can connect and consolidate multiple data files

The Challenge

If you have multiple data files and have the requirement to consolidate them you would have found that the only way to do this from your Accounting system is to export reports to Excel and then combine the data by either using lookup formulas if you know how or copying and pasting data. This process is has many manual steps and is time consuming and error prone.

What can be done ?

BudgetLink can connect with multiple data files at the same time and report both movement (P&L) and balance data at either an individual or consolidated view.

With the Drill Down module enabled you are able to double click on any number in a consolidated report to instantly view all the transactions across all data files that make up the consolidated number.

If you use Jobs and Categories you can simultaneously report across all companies and then filter by either Job or Category.

With comments enabled you are able to record comments which relate to variances at the company level.

With Multi-Currency enabled you can view the consolidated data converted to a single reporting currency.

With Elimination Entries enabled you can exclude elimination entries from your consolidated reports.

By using Account Hierarchies you can map data files with a different chart of accounts into a single consolidation hierarchy. This feature can also be used to automate Statutory reporting layouts

How does it work ?

During a single get data process, BudgetLink will connect to each data file and downloads transactionsn into a single Access database where it gets combined into one data set with a company dimension. This data is then loaded into Excels memory where it can be retrieved into reports with a company filter which includes a consolidated item which represents the data from all data files. This allows you to report on either a individual companies or consolidated in Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statements and Budget Analysis reports

Additional filters, such as the Company filter, will get included to make sense from which data file the data came.
